10 Ebook Promotion Tips
by The Scottish Dude

Personally, I've been an ebook author for over a year and a half now. My novella "The Second Philadelphia" has been published by Sunny Side Up Publishing and I have also published an ezine and some other free ebooks.

What I have learned since I became an ebook writer has been staggering - I've tried just about all the on-line marketing tips from the gurus and have learned through painful experience which approach works and which doesn't.

Below I've listed 10 short tips that have worked for me, and best of all are free to implement. I hope they help you ebook promotion. It goes without saying that the writer of this article accepts no responsibility for the use of the information listed below - you use it at your own risk.

1) Write a short ebook and give it away free - include a link on every page to your paid ebook. Remember to allow others to redistribute it and pass it along to their friends.Offer it to ezine publishers.

2) Write articles for ezines. Most ezine managers are glad that you've saved them time by providing their readers with content, and you usually get a short ad run for free.

3) Go to as many classified ad sites as you can and post a brief description and link to your ebook. Be wary of submitting your actual email address as you could get a lot of spam.

4) Use the power of internet replication, there's a few programs about that help you do this. Here's one of them

5) Join as many email discussion groups as possible and interact with the other members. In every email you send to the group include a brief link at the end to your ebook.

6) Start a contest. Offer people a chance to win a free copy of your ebook by submitting their email address to you. In a week or so announce the winner and give your free copy away. Remember to send out an email to the others pointing out where they can buy the ebook. Write away to several ezines and websites to promote your contest.

7) Make up a version of your paid ebook that only has the first three chapters. Give this "light" version away by placing it on websites. Include at the end of it information about how to purchase the full copy.

8) Use chat rooms. Spend your time building a friendship between the others on-line in the room. Before you leave mention your ebook and link to it.

9) Have your ebook reviewed. Submit a free copy to ezine managers who are interested in reviewing it for you - they'll post the review to their members.

10) Start your own "ebook fan club" ezine. Allow people to join freely and discuss your ebook. Post free excerpts etc.

11) Always Include reader reviews on your sales page.

12) Always have a free bonus if the customer buys your ebook - to tempt them.

Hey! I promised you 10 tips and I gave you 12! How's that for a promise?
